• ~Psalm 46:4-5~

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.

Make-Do Monday

Today I’m participating in Ann’s Make Do Monday carnival. Head over there if you’d like other tips for making do today!

My toddler LOVES to pull the pots and pans out of the cabinet in the kitchen. At certain times of the week this strikes me as amusing. She’s so cute as she eagerly pulls everything out and climbs into the cabinet herself. However, when we’re in a hurry to get somewhere or when I’m about to use that pot for dinner, it can be annoying. We’ve installed child safety locks on all of the other cabinets. It was a pain!

attack of the pots and pans

Rather than permanently locking the cabinet with pots and pans inside, I’ve strung a hair band around the two knobs. It’s strong enough to keep Bri out. Yet, I can quickly grab what I need from the cabinet or let her play inside. If you’re working on baby-proofing your house, this is a great way to make-do for a little while.

  1. Clever make-do solution!

I love that you do let her play with those pots and pans. I let my kids rattle and clang, and years later, the knob popped off one of them. But the company replaced the lid for free, so let her have at them without fear!

    “Little” being a keyword here.

My 2.5 y/o operates the cabinet locks better than I can these days. Lotta good those are doing us! :)

  4. Not a bad idea…I may have to try this! Thanks for the tip!!!
