Hubster’s grandmother turns 90 this year and we celebrated with his family this weekend. One of her sons (she has four sons!) arranged for us to visit the now vacant house where she grew up as a birthday tribute to her. Hubster’s uncle remarked that the last time he’d been in the house was 1973. None of his kids had seen the interior. Neither had we!

Most recently, the building has been used as a doctor’s office. The front entrance holds a beautiful stained glass window. A bench beneath the window proved to be a nice spot for climbing for the kids. It used to be the foyer of the house, but has been converted to a waiting room.

There was another beautiful stained glass window above the front door. Hubs and Bri were playing on the front porch while I tried to get a picture of it.
Aren’t they adorable? I had to get more shots of them. Forget the windows!

Upstairs we heard story after story from great-aunts and uncles. Hubster’s grandmother showed us the room where she was sleeping when her water broke during her pregnancy with Hubster’s dad. That was a weird thought. The kids ran around, laughing and playing. It made me long to have another baby. The cousins were so cute playing together.

We had so much fun on our adventure that I completely forgot to get a 7days shot. However, I found my reflection among one of the trial shots for the family picture. You can see my curly hair reflected in the window.

Believe it or not, I don’t take self portraits most of the time. I’m a lot more comfortable on the other side of the camera!
