There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.

Busy Day

Our dinner smells delicious! I’m putting together a vegetable beef stew this morning because we have a busy day ahead of us. This morning I have my six week check-up with my OB/Gyn. My how time flies when you’re not allowed to excercise! Tomorrow I’ll have to start putting that gym membership to good use. In the past my OB visits have lasted for 2-3 hours on a regular basis. During that 2-3 hours, I spent 7 minutes in the lab, 10 minutes in the exam room and 2 and 1/2 hours sitting in the waiting room before that. My doctor has excellent communication skills and she is way too patient with her other patients. (Of course I love the fact that she spends lots of time answering all of my questions.) So, I’m not sure how I will feed Bri while we are there. I think it’s going to depend on who’s around when she gets hungry. She really needs more practice with the bottle anyway, but knowing that daycare is looming ahead I really want to nurse her as much as possible. So I guess we’ll see how many people are in the waiting room.
Then this afternoon we have an appointment to draft up our will. It’s a very morbid idea, but we want to make sure that Bri would be taken care of if the worst should happen. We’ve been meaning to get around to this for months. We actually intended to write one before her birth, but we are procrastinators. And in this case the deadline is a big question mark. So we’re finally getting around to it. To give us some credit, we attempted to do one of those free online wills. My dear husband was in a sit-down-and-get-it-done mood that day and it had been on the to do list for weeks. We had filled out almost 30 pages before we got to the confusing stuff. “In the event that the beneficiary and the second alternate are killed in the same accident then the beneficiary will be pronounced dead first so that the inheritance will pass according to their arrangements”… Crazy stuff! We were so confused that we had to stop, much to my hubby’s dismay. And begrudgingly he admitted that it was worth it to hire a professional to draft our will so that we could feel secure in the knowledge that our baby would be taken care of according to our wishes. sigh. I bet we’ll be listening to lots of explanations at this appointment!
